Every little bit helps.

The American College of Sports Medicine guidelines for physical activity have changed quite a bit over the last decade. Initially, one needed 45-60 minutes of moderate-vigorous intensity exercise most days of the week (usually 5-6 days). Now, realizing the time constraints of most americans, they suggest 30-45 minutes of accumulated, moderate intensity exercise most days of the week. Accumulated exercise could be a 10 minute walk in the morning, 10 minute walk on a lunch break, and 10 minutes of play with your kids in the evening. Perform 2-20 minute strength training sessions in addition to the accumulated aerobic activity. These guidelines, combined with a sound nutrition plan, are 90% of the battle.
